Obstacles and barriers present themselves in various ways for different people. How you experience these barriers in life are entirely unique to you and thus should require a unique solution as well - tailored to fit your needs and goals. Oftentimes the largest and most challenging hurdles we are faced with overcoming are the internal ones. These may take the form of self-defeating beliefs about yourself and capabilities that stem from past negative experiences, past failures/perceived failures, or maybe these hurdles generate from feeling stuck and unsure of how to break free of the same old negative or mundane cycle that you find yourself in. Whether you are seeking healing and support through the form of therapy or through that in which you receive from accessing your Akashic Records, healing and support is the bottom line and goal. Additionally, to tap into and honor the infinite wisdom that is already inside of you.
Often the hardest part in getting the support you need is overcoming the initial discomfort with the idea of letting your guard down and allowing yourself to be vulnerable with someone who has never before been a part of your life. My hope is that by learning a little bit about me, you can feel more comfortable in connecting and sharing your story.
I grew up in Denver, Colorado and then went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico where I had the honor of playing Division 1 soccer. I earned a Master's degree in Social Work for The Ohio State University and for the last several years my family and I have lived in Eastern Washington. I enjoy the sunshine and being active outdoors! I have found that our spiritual, emotional and physical health is all related and in order to achieve overall health, a holistic and individualized approach is most effective and sustaining.
I am an independently licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) providing mental health counseling to individuals, and am an EMDRIA trained EMDR therapist certified in Crisis Incident Stress Management (CISM). I have experience working across various settings with both individuals and groups including Division 1 collegiate athletes, community mental health, home-based services, school-based counseling, those experiencing/survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, complex trauma, youth and parent mentoring and drug and alcohol abuse .
Individuals that I am especially passionate in working with:
Anyone looking to improve an overall sense of balance, peace and well-being
Those who have experienced trauma or overwhelming events in their life who now find themselves stuck in the past and/or are having difficulties moving forward
Individuals struggling with life transitions or adjustments (including preparing for or recovering from childbirth/transitioning into becoming a parent)
Athletes, performers, business professionals looking to get a performance edge on their competition, gain the confidence necessary to go for that next promotion, overcome internal blocks, fully process negative past experiences, failures/perceived failures or injuries that have prevented them from reaching their full potential
Each individual is unique, as are their circumstances. Therefore, my approach consists of an eclectic mix of evidence-based techniques to most effectively and efficiently meet your needs and address your goals. I pride myself in recognizing the unique circumstances surrounding each client and tailoring my approach to ensure their goals are met and their ultimate potential is achieved. Evidence based therapeutic methods that I most commonly utilize are:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
